Brushing: Brush your teeth for two minutes, twice a day, using gentle, circular motions. You can choose a fluoride toothpaste to help remineralize enamel and prevent cavities, or opt for a natural toothpaste that contains beneficial ingredients like xylitol, nano-hydroxyapatite (N-HA), and antimicrobial properties from essential oils (e.g., peppermint or tea tree) for added protection against bacteria. Electric toothbrushes can offer a more consistent and effective brushing experience.

Oil Pulling: Oil pulling with organic coconut or sesame oil can be a helpful adjunct to regular brushing. Swish for 10–15 minutes to help detoxify the mouth, reduce harmful bacteria, and support gum health.

Flossing: Floss daily to remove plaque and food particles between your teeth. If traditional floss is uncomfortable or difficult, a water flosser can be a highly effective alternative. It uses a gentle stream of water to clean between teeth and along the gumline, making it especially helpful for sensitive gums.

Hydration & Nutrition: Drink plenty of water throughout the day to support saliva production, which helps remineralize teeth and maintain a healthy pH balance in the mouth. Also, focus on nutrient-rich foods like vitamin D, calcium, magnesium, and vitamin K2, which are essential for strong teeth and bones. Limiting sugary and acidic foods is important, as they can erode enamel and contribute to tooth decay. If you consume them, rinse your mouth with water afterward to neutralize acids.

Regular Dental Checkups: Regular visits to your dental practice are key to maintaining oral health. At Aesthetic Family Dentistry, we focus on individualized care to ensure your teeth and gums are in top shape, helping catch any potential issues early and keeping your smile healthy for years to come.

Dental bonding is a very effective dental procedure that can address a range of issues within your mouth. It’s also one of the simplest and fastest procedures, which makes it ideal in a range of situations.

As holistic dentists, we like dental bonding because it isn’t invasive, it doesn’t involve any surgery, needs no anesthesia or pain relief and can be performed in a single visit. The benefits of dental bonding are many.

What issues can dental bonding address?

There are a range of dental issues that can be managed by dental bonding, which is why it is regarded as so effective.

They include:

Repairing damaged or decayed teeth

Covering tooth discoloration

To fill gaps between teeth

To improve the aesthetics of the teeth

Used as an alternative to amalgam fillings

Protect tooth roots if gum recedes

Advantages of dental bonding

Dental bonding is a straightforward procedure that needs no surgery, drugs or invasive actions. It’s also faster and cheaper than many other procedures making it ideal in a range of situations.

One big advantage is that bonding doesn’t need the kind of work necessary for a veneer but can achieve similar results. Less enamel is removed to prepare the teeth, no molds need be taken or porcelain veneers manufactured. That lowers the cost significantly while still offering an effective remedy.

The only downside to dental bonding is that it doesn’t last as long as a veneer. However, with quality care and a good dental health regimen, it should last many years.

The dental bonding procedure

Bonding a tooth is a very straightforward procedure. We assess the teeth, check their color against a shade guide, mix the resin to match that color and prepare your mouth for the bonding.

Next we roughen the surface of the tooth slightly to provide a key for the bonding material. We then use a conditioning agent on the tooth and apply the bonding resin. We mold it to resemble the surrounding teeth and to be invisible once cured. Once we’re happy, we apply a curing light to the resin to harden.

Once set, we shape the bonding material if necessary to make it practically invisible and polish it to complete the procedure. Typically, a dental bonding procedure will take up to an hour per tooth depending on the condition.

Dental bonding is a very effective dental treatment that we prescribe wherever it is going to be most effective. If you think you’re a candidate for dental bonding or would like to know more, and you live in Denville, Dover, Morristown, Morris Plains, Mountain Lakes, Randolph, Rockaway contact Aesthetic Family Dentistry today. We’re here to help!

It’s non-invasive, flexible, reliable, and is an great way to address a number of dental issues. We are also able to mix and apply the bonding while you’re here.

Dental bonding is also known as composite bonding and is a resin that is safe to use within the mouth. It is colored to look like your teeth and can do a number of things. It can repair chips, cover discolorations, fill fractures and overlay decayed teeth once they have been treated.

Benefits of dental bonding

There are five main benefits of dental bonding. They are:

It is one of the least invasive procedures we have

It’s simple to do and often requires no anesthetics.

It looks natural and can be colored to match your teeth

It’s painless

We can repair bonding easily

Most people can have Cosmetic dental bonding

Most patients can benefit from dental bonding. Once any underlying issues have been addressed, we can apply the bonding to stains, chips, broken teeth, discolorations, crooked areas, rotated teeth and in many other situations.

The flexibility of the procedure is one of the best benefits for you!

Dental bonding looks natural

Dental bonding looks completely natural. Your dentist needs to be skilled in tooth sculpting and veneering to be able to use dental bonding with any degree of success. As long as they have this, they should be able to create a completely natural look.

Dental bonding can last years

It’s impossible to give a definite lifespan on dental bonding as it differs between patients. For some, it can last for a decade or more. Much depends on where it’s applied, how healthy your regimen is and what it is exposed to.

Typically, we would estimate that a ten to fifteen year lifespan isn’t unreasonable to expect.

Dental bonding needs no special treatment

Unlike many dental procedures, there are no special requirements for caring for your dental bonding. Simply avoid biting into hard objects such as ice cubes or fingernails and you should be fine.

There are many reasons why dentists like dental bonding. We hope you can now appreciate some of them. If you’re considering dental bonding, contact Aesthetic Family Dentistry today for a consultation. We strive for excellence in all the procedure we do!

Dental bonding is very useful for aesthetics, prosthodontics and pediatric dentistry. It is painless, cost effective and can be a quick fix for many minor dental issues. It’s also quick. After a consultation, we can apply dental bonding to teeth in a single visit.

So How Long Do a Dental Bond Last?

How long dental bonding lasts depends on where it’s applied, how it’s applied and what conditions it has to deal with. If you smoke or drink it will discolor the bonding material. If you bite your nails or eat a lot of hard foods such as nuts, it may crack the bond.

Essentially, the more you put your mouth through, the shorter the lifespan of the dental bond.

It also depends where the bonding material is applied. If the area gets a lot of use, the useful lifetime of the dental bonding will be reduced. If the bond is applied somewhere that doesn’t get quite so much use, it could last many years. In fact, we have patients that have enjoyed the benefits of dental bonding for over 10 years!

As holistic dentists, we at Aesthetic Family Dentistry are in favor of any effective dental procedure that delivers results without the need for intrusive procedures. That’s why we like dental bonding. Teeth look better within an hour, you don’t need anesthetic and we don’t need to interfere too much in how the mouth looks and works.

If you think you could benefit from dental bonding, contact our practice today!

Dental bonding is a procedure that involves using an almost invisible resin to repair or improve the appearance of teeth. It’s a relatively simple procedure than can make all the difference with to your smile.

Dental bonding can be used to:

Repair decayed teeth

Fill cavities

Repair cracks and chips in teeth

To fill gaps between teeth

Protect teeth with receding gums

We mainly use this bonding on teeth to address smaller issues with appearance. It isn’t all about the looks though, as teeth with gaps, cracks and decay can harbor bacteria which can affect your long term oral health.

What is Involved in Dental Bonding?

The dental bonding procedure is very straightforward. As a holistic dentist, we like it because it doesn’t always need anesthesia and within an hour, we can repair and revitalize someone’s smile. The exception is if the bonding is used to repair decay, then additional treatment may be required.

Bonding teeth is a simple procedure that involves little preparation. We first use a shade guide to match the bonding material to the color of your teeth. We then prepare the site of the bonding by roughening the surface of the surrounding tooth with micro abrasion and apply a conditioner to it.

We then apply the bonding on teeth that need it and shape the material into the desired contours that match the surrounding teeth. Once complete, we then shine a UV light onto it to make it set. Once completely hard, we then refine and polish the teeth bonding until it completely fits in with the surrounding teeth. Once we’re happy the dental bond is beautiful and invisible, we’re all done.

The advantage of dental bonding is that in low bite pressure areas, it’s a long term solution to minor dental issues. It’s quick to administer and painless too which is always a benefit. Another advantage of dental bonding is that we can do it right here in the clinic. There is no taking molds and sending them away, no waiting for labs, it’s all here and down to our own skill.

As holistic dentists, we like dental bonding because it usually requires no anesthesia and it also impacts the surrounding teeth very little. We don’t have to remove parts of teeth, or too much enamel, leaving as much of your original teeth untouched as possible. Any procedure that has such little impact on the mouth but such a big impact on your quality of life has to be a good thing!

Depending on the procedure, applying dental bonding to a single tooth takes between 30 and 60 minutes. That makes the cost of dental bonding eminently affordable. Contact our office if you would like to take advantage of this great procedure.
